Baguio Pizza Volante: A review

Baguio Pizza

From the reviews I have read through the internet, Baguio Pizza Volante seems to have a name on Italian dishes that is serving in the city. Nevertheless, I have to try the diner.  Located at the center of the famous Session Road of Baguio (Upper), this restaurant   has been standing there for years.  I was hoping to see a spacious place but it seems the opposite. [They do have a second floor and they have a serving counter there so you do not have to go down when you want to order again (how cool!).]

As the name implies, these pie taste banana   but is more tasteful than those banana cake sold at market places.  It is creamier and gooier (because it is a pie). Making it different from simple banana pie is the cream at its top. The cream blended well with the taste of the banana. The cream taste no different from the cream they put on milkshakes but because of the overpowering flavor of banana it blended well. Moreover, I find that the blending of the pie’s crust and cream unpalatable, but I think the maple syrup will do.

 Pesto Pasta
If they say Italian dishes, Pasta would be the first word on my mind. This pasta serves with basil leaf sauce gives the impression that it is for vegetarian, and it is truly is. Being fond of green foods and beverages, I found this pasta dish suitable for my taste. Pairing it with a buttered onion bread make it more worthy of its price.

Choco Vanilla Affair
Being intrigued by its name, I wonder what it looks like.  Chocolate flavored flan topping with a Vanilla flavored ice cream. The ice cream melted with the flan due to the sizzling flan below it.  They blended well like the banana pie with the cream because the sweetness of the other is neutralized by the other.

Kenny George Pizza
First ,Pasta ,and then Pizza. Pizza Volante have acquired its credibility as a diner because of its Italian dishes, especially Pizza. They serve a good-for-two Pizza (for 80 -100 peso approximately) or for 3-5 persons pizza. I only have tried the Kenny George pizza, and I must admit that it didn’t reach my expectations. And because of its name, I think there is something lacking in their pizza or the dough had just overpowered the meaty taste.

I am not into sweet foods and I would say that when ordering Choco Vanilla Affair and/or  Banana Cream Pie, do not order two servings, It’s really sweet. And when trying the Waffle with maple syrup & butter, don't be disappointed, I found their syrup to be watery but it still have the maple taste, however. Please note also that Pizza Volante add an additional service charge.
